    There's More to the Story.

Not everything makes it into the history books. Some stories live on through family memories, neighborhood legends, and the occasional whisper in an old building.

We're collecting the Local Lore of Reisterstown for some exciting historic projects, and we'd love to hear yours!

    ✦ LOCAL LEGEND NO. 001

The Mysterious Guest at 234 Main Street

Some guests just don't know when to leave.

Legend has it that Mr. Murray, a mysterious Englishman rumored to be hiding from the law, once lived in the Reister House in the late 1700s.

Centuries later, tales of mysterious footsteps and doors closing on their own still circulate. Is Mr. Murray keeping an eye on the place, or does a 250-year-old house simply have a few tricks up its sleeve?

We'll leave that up to you.

A little local folklore, shared in the spirit of storytelling.
