Where Ideas Turn Into Real Projects

Connecting Students With Community

High school students get hands-on with events, creative work, media, and storytelling—right on Reisterstown Main Street. Students don’t just learn about the community they help shape it. Along the way, students collaborate, try new roles, build skills, and see their work shared with the public

Plan an event. Create content. Tell local stories. Start something new.

The Junior Main Street program provides hands-on experience, creative freedom, and opportunities to turn ideas into real community projects.

The program has already led to real outcomes, including the creation of a student-led podcast

Student Voices, Real Conversations

Frank-ly Speaking Podcast is Reisterstown’s inside look at what local youth are thinking, creating, and experiencing. Produced through the Junior Main Street Program, this student-led show connects the community with life at Franklin High School by sharing monthly recaps, personal perspectives, and conversations about topics that matter. The podcast is led by Host Avery Ray, Producer Miye’a Ayler, and Editor Kaiden Tunstall, with each episode offering authentic insight directly from the students. With guest speakers, opinions and interviews, the team brings a fresh, engaging view of school life and youth culture to the Reisterstown community.
