Baltimore Humane Society

In the latest episode of Betcha Didn’t Know?, Stacey Abbott and Reisterstown Main Street takes us on a heartwarming journey inside the Baltimore Humane Society, located right here in Reisterstown.

Known for its commitment to animal welfare for nearly a century, the Humane Society provides far more than just adoption services—it offers hope, healing, and community support. From low-cost veterinary care and spay/neuter services to a Pet Food Pantry and educational programs, their work is a shining example of what it means to care deeply for both animals and people.

We were joined on this special visit by Alexa Jones, who shared a behind-the-scenes look at the facility, including its welcoming property, the cozy small animal room, the wide range of adoption services, and the serene and beautifully maintained pet cemetery that honors beloved animals from generations past. Whether you’re an animal lover, a supporter of local causes, or someone who just loves a good story, this episode offers a little bit of everything. It’s a celebration of kindness, compassion, and connection—and a reminder that Reisterstown is full of hidden gems doing incredible work.
