A perfect location and special amenities leads a national website to rank Reisterstown among the top 15 small towns in the Free State.

Festivals, a state-of-the-art Sportsplex, proximity to Baltimore and Washington, and many other amenities make Reisterstown one of Maryland's best places to live.

According to national ranking site 101USA.com, "Amenities are rated quite high with 100s of shopping and dining availability, and though education is slightly above average in this city, the unemployment rate is on the decline and lower than the states average of 7.1%."

Given the cultural amenities and relaxed atmosphere of small-town living, the fact that Reisterstown is less than 15 miles from Baltimore makes its location ideal.

Of course, this is hardly news to anyone residing in our town. A fellow named John Reister settled here for precisely that reason back in 1758.
