We are that place you learned to act as a kid. We are the people who taught you how to use a puppet and peel a banana with your toes. We were your excuse for you to put on a funny mask and wear a lady bug costume. We were your home in the summer and your refuge in the winter. And we continue to be that place for many young people today. We are people for art for the people
The majority of our people come from Baltimore County and Carroll County. We serve people from other locations as well. We have served Reisterstown for 33 years!
We are a small arts organization founded in 1989 by Beth and Alden Phelps. With others, they created an organization dedicated to creating a community through creating art together. All people are welcome and we find a place for anyone who wants to be a part of our organization. This continues to be our focus. In the beginning, we used a lot of puppets, but our form of theatre has evolved over the years depending on the interests and skills of our creative artists. We continue to create original plays to perform. Look for our major productions in February and August. We have theater classes for young people and workshops for other interests throughout the year. Covid has dampened our live productions, but we have been offering radio plays and other virtual events. Look us up at www.osarts.org or email us at [email protected]
