Small Business Relief Grants Program

Baltimore County has allocated $10 million in new grant funding to help our small businesses during the pandemic crisis. The Department of Economic and Workforce Development will administer the Baltimore County COVID Small Business Relief Grants Program, will will award grants of up to $15,000 each to more than 650 Baltimore County-based small businesses on a first-come, first served basis. Here's how to make sure you are in the best position to access this relief:

 

  • Step One – See if you meet the grant criteria, and review the terms of the COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grants Program,  Review the Frequently Asked Questions, and check back on Friday, May 9 to see our updated summary responses to questions that we have received via email at This email address is being protected from spambots.   • Step Two Gather all of the required documents and information (the lists of documents are provided at the websites links above), and read the Small Business Emergency Relief Grant Instruction, to ensure that you have all of the information you’ll need to apply. It is essential that you follow these grant instructions precisely in your application. We are posting all data requirements and instructions in advance of the application form release so that applicants will have time to prepare to complete the form when applications open on May 11.

 

  • Step Three – Mark your calendar to be first in line to submit your application on May 11 when the actual application form will be posted on the websites shown above.

Baltimore County staff members are not permitted to provide individual responses, so that we ensure an equal and fair grant application process. We will post answers to an updated list of Frequently Asked Questions on the website on Friday, May 9. 

 

County Offers Grants to Assist Professional Artists, Musicians and Performers
 

Baltimore County has also allocated $100,000 to provide $1,000 stipends for up to 100 artists to help them recoup some of their financial losses due to the pandemic. Grants will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted, and priority will be given to lower income artists, making $37,500 or less per year. Applicants will submit a streamlined application, document their artistic portfolio, and must be adult Baltimore County residents over the age of 18.

The application process will open on May 11, 2020 and details are available on the Baltimore County Commission on Arts and Sciences web page, at www.baltimorecountymd.gov/individualartist

Once approved, artists may use these grants for a number of purposes, including recouping losses from canceled performances and events, art-related travel expenses, lost teaching opportunities and loss of supplemental income for artists working in the service industry.
