RIA's Design Committee works hard to get Main Street into top physical shape while creating a safe, inviting environment for all.
To preserve the historic character of our town, this committee pays close attention to the condition of buildings, storefronts, signs, public spaces, parking areas, street furniture, public art, landscaping, merchandising, window displays, and promotional materials. An appealing atmosphere, created through attention to all of these visual elements, conveys a positive message about Reisterstown and what it has to offer.
Popular design activities also include instilling good maintenance practices in the historic district, encouraging the rehabilitation of historic buildings, encouraging appropriate new construction, developing sensitive design management systems, educating business and property owners about design quality, and long-term planning.
Reisterstown celebrates a proud past and a bright future with the winning entry in a banner competition that featured many creative and enticing entries.
We challenged you to design a banner that will entice Main Street commuters to stop, shop, stroll and dine in our historic district. And you delivered some very enticing entries ...
As John Reister recognized more than 250 years ago, those commuting along Main Street provide extraordinary business opportunities.
